Internet Marketing Tools – Hot Trend for 2010 & Beyond

internet-marketing-toolsUnless you’ve been completely ignoring the affiliate marketing landscape, you’re well aware of the fact that internet marketing tools rule these days.  A lot of people who would never consider an ebook will happily pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars for marketing tools.  But why?

If you’re a working affiliate marketer, the amount of time saved by using good tools can be enormous.  If you value your time at $100/hour and a tool saves you 2 hours/week in tedious work, you’re going to value that tool at roughly $800/month.  It doesn’t mean that you’d be willing to spend $800, but it does mean that you will have no trouble justifying $50/month.

When it comes to ebooks, the ROI can be much more vague.  One good tip COULD, in theory, make you a ton of money.  Unfortunately, a lot of them don’t even seem to offer much in the way of original information, so the overall transaction can be very disappointing in many cases.  When you factor in the time it takes to actually read an ebook, it’s easy to see why some people are cutting back in this area.

Have you personally noticed a difference in your buying habits?  Do you get more tools or more ebooks?  Let us know in the comments!

The New Affiliate: Internet Marketing Beginnings

affiliate-internet-marketingTo the new affiliate, internet marketing is a hugely daunting new undertaking.  You have to learn about the industry itself.  You have to learn the technical side of things.  You have to be business owner, marketer, copywriter, and tech experts (in most cases, anyway).  It can be hard to know where to start and what to focus on, but the tips below should help you get started.

  • Avoid the technical as much as possible. If possible, start out by creating your website on a free service like Blogger.com or Squidoo.  You have less ability to customize, but it will also help you avoid the technical roadblocks that stop so many new affiliates.  You don’t have to own a website to make money.  If you DO decide that you want a website, go with a simple shared hosting plan and use WordPress or another template-based site manager to keep things easy.  You can always make it more complex later once you’re already making money.
  • Just do it. You’re going to screw up – many times, actually.  We all do.  The point is to get started and not let yourself get weighed down by reading and deliberating.  If you’re using paid traffic, set a low daily budget and keep an eye on what’s happening.  If you’re using free traffic, you don’t have to worry nearly as much.
  • Sign up with just one or two networks.  Don’t worry if you can’t get accepted at every network under the sun.  You only need one network to make money.  There’s no sense in wasting a lot of time learning the interfaces of every network at this point in time.

It’s tough getting started, but the key is not to get too discouraged or scared.  If you can conquer your own personal issues, chances are good that you’ll be successful.

Internet Marketing Ideas: Go Independent

affiliate-marketing-ideasWhen it comes to internet marketing ideas, going independent is one that more affiliates should act on.  If you’re like most affiliates, you probably have accounts with half a dozen or more affiliate networks.  Unfortunately, everywhere you turn, you see tons of competition.  By going independent, though, you can avoid a lot of that.

So what do I mean by going independent?  Instead of going to networks like CJ and Azoogle, just leave them alone for a while.  Instead, seek out programs that are run in-house.   Often, you can find offers and products with little to no competition from other affiliates.

The main issue with going to independent affiliate programs is security.  You have to be able to trust that your leads will be tracked and that you will actually get paid.  The tracking part is pretty simple in most cases – just place a trial order and return it later once you’ve gotten confirmation that it tracked.

Trusting that you’ll get paid is a little harder, but affiliate marketing always involves a leap of faith.  Even merchants on big networks can fail to make payments, so don’t think you’re any safer in those situations than going direct with the merchant.  There are a few things you can do to make it less risky, though.

  • Research the company.  Have they been around a while?  Are there a lot of complaints showing up in the search engine rankings?  Do they seem responsive?
  • Make them build up trust. Don’t sign up for a new program and immediately send $20k of traffic to their offer.  Until they have built up trust, don’t send any more traffic than you can afford to lose.
  • Trust your gut. If they seem shady, they probably are.

Internet Marketing Tips – Skip Affilicert

internet-marketing-tipsAfter talking with a few affiliate managers over the last week or two, one of the best internet marketing tips I’ve picked up is this – skip Affilicert.  If you’re not already familiar with it, it’s basically a site that checks you out as an affiliate (and calls a lot of people that you work with) and then declares you “Affilicert Approved”.  While this sounds like a great idea at first, the reality is that the networks just aren’t buying that it makes you a better affiliate.

From what I’ve seen, affiliates aren’t exactly jumping on it, either.  Numerous affiliate forums have declared it “useless” or even an invasion of privacy.  The questions they ask are very intrusive, so it’s not hard to see where that complaint is coming from.  Why give your personal information to yet another company?

If you really want to get accepted at a network, just pick up the phone and call them.  Or better yet, if you’re able, meet up at a trade show and say hello in person.  In an industry where so much happens on the computer, face-to-face contact can have huge benefits when it comes to trust.  There’s nothing WRONG with Affilicert, exactly.  It’s just a waste of precious funds that could be more effectively used for testing new campaigns.

Internet Marketing Training That Works

internet-marketing-trainingHow many internet marketing training systems have you tried?  More than 5?  More than 10?  More than 20?  There are a lot of people who bounce from course to course, constantly hearing about the latest and greatest new thing.  They read the testimonials, they get enticed by the all-new tools, and they see the gurus buzzing.  The problem, though, is that they fail to realize that the problem isn’t the courses they’ve been buying.  It’s them.

Before you buy another course, stop to think about when the last time was that you actually finished a course and then methodically applied the knowledge to your work, giving it numerous tries before moving on to something new.  If you’re like most people, you have probably never done that.

The very best internet marketing training is not the latest, flashiest, or most expensive course.  It’s the course that you choose based on your interests and needs, and which you actually finish and follow through on.  Without determination and follow-through, no course will help you.

Creating Your Own Internet Marketing Program

teacher-doris-dayNever try to learn all you need to know from a pre-configured internet marketing program.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you shouldn’t buy internet marketing products – I’m just saying that it’s much more important to create your own course based on what you know to be your strengths and weaknesses.

Instead of looking for one simple solution that does it all, try thinking about it like you’re a teacher designing a school curriculum.  Figure out what area you’ll be specializing in.  Then, figure out exactly which skills you’ll need to get started.  Remember, too, that you don’t need to know everything to start making money.  You just need a firm grasp of the basics.

Once you know your weaknesses, seek out a combination of free tutorial, paid products, and mentors you could work with to improve your skills.  Don’t forget the possibility of barter if you’re low on funds.  By taking your learning into your own hands instead of letting someone else give you a one-size-fits-all program, you’ll get exactly what YOU need.

3231332259_db2ede2443On December 1, 2009 you must be in compliance with the new rules for affiliate online marketing, actually any type of Internet online marketing. The FTC ( federal trade commission ) has implemented some new rules for the affiliate or anyone who is marketing products online. I am going to cover some of the basic rules that you need to be aware of in order to make sure you are complying properly. I suggest you go straight to their website and review all the new rules that have been laid out. You will be able to find them at http://www.ftc.gov/os/2009/10/091005revisedendorsmentguides/pdf These rules mostly apply to claims, testimonials, endorsements and the receiving of any compensation as a result of these.

It is suggested that you go to this page and read the guidelines, its only 12 pages long and has examples of what is deceptive and what is permissible. What all this really means is all Internet marketers need to do a better job of being transparent with their marketing practices, that means promoting typical results and not best results, being clear about our relationship with our endorser’s and people we endorse also having a closer relationship with our customers. After all if you are going to become successful with your affiliate online marketing business you need to build your customer’s trust so they will buy from you. I believe this can turn out to be a good thing for our industry.

What Is CPA Marketing?

Tuesday, October 6, 2009
posted by goldeng1 6:19 AM

why-cpa-marketingIt is actually the same basic concept as affiliate marketing were you drive traffic to other advertiser’s websites and if the visitor purchases their product or service you earn a commission, with CPA which means cost per action or sometimes referred to as PPA or pay per action. With the CPA program the advertiser pays for a specific action whether the visitor purchases a product or provides their contact information such as email, name and address or phone number and then you receive a commission for that specific action even if your visitor does not purchase that product.

As the publisher, with CPA marketing you are taking most of the risk and your results are dependent your advertiser’s website or opt in page. The conversions are usually very good and the commissions can range anywhere from $1.00 to $ 50.00 or sometimes more! The biggest drawback to CPA marketing is the networks turn a lot people down when they attempt to sign up for these programs so it is often difficult to get approved by the networks to promote this program.

How To Build a Affiliate Marketing System

There are some basic too300px-affiliate_marketing_illustrationls that need to be put in place in order to build a successful affiliate marketing system. One of the first thing you need to do is find the right products to promote. This can be accomplished through Click-bank or Pay dot com which are two of the largest affiliate marketing sites, all you need to do is sign up for a account and your good to go! You will also need to choose a domain name, get a hosting account than set up a squeeze page to collect the names and email addresses to start building you own list. This is the solid foundation you need to start building you own list!

One of the easiest ways to build your own list is to offer something to your visitors who come to your squeeze page ,blog or website for FREE such as a e-book,membership,newsletter,free report or a informational video. You will also need a auto-responder service set up such as AWEBER so you can collect all the details from the visitors who sign up.Now you will be able to send a sequence of emails to your subscribers therefore you are not only referring your visitors to other websites that you are a affiliate for, you are actually developing your own affiliate marketing system for future products you choose to promote!
