Affiliate Marketing: A Mutually Beneficial Business Practice
In order to succeed in business, you need two things: capital and contacts. Capital is the seed money necessary to develop your business - the cash you would shell out to pay your employees, advertise your business and purchase inventory. Contacts are the major players in the industry who already have the smarts and the skill set to conquer the business world. Entrepreneurs face a unique dilemma in that they often lack the formidable capital required to enter the marketplace.
Luckily, an affiliate marketing program allows entrepreneurs to gain contacts who are in turn willing to share their capital. Large, successful businesses will call upon individuals to help them with the marketing aspect, offering payment in exchange for exposure. If an affiliate manages to direct customers to the seller, he or she is paid handsomely. This setup allows entrepreneurs to focus on one practical task: marketing.
Will an Internet Marketing System Work?
A lot of people wonder if they will ever find an internet marketing system that works, or if it’s even possible that any of them work. The truth is actually pretty simple - almost all of them work. They just don’t all work for everyone. The problem is that we all come to this field with different skills and different weaknesses. What works for one person will not always work for another. Luckily, though, there are ways to maximize your chances of finding a program that works.
- Do an honest appraisal of yourself - Your strengths, weaknesses, and your ability to invest. This is extremely important in choosing a program. If you don’t have money to invest, don’t waste your time with courses on paid traffic. If you don’t have a lot of time to invest, not many programs at all are going to help you. The initial time investment is never as small as sales letters would have you believe.
- Find out exactly what traffic source is being taught - If a course’s sales letter doesn’t make it clear how you’ll be earning money and driving traffic, run far away. It’s a big waste of your time and it’s also a good indication that things may not be completely on the up-and-up.
- Get a money-back guarantee - Use that “free trial” to quickly look over the material and see if it fits your work style. If not, get out while you still can.
And of course, you have to make sure that you’re willing to follow through. Without follow-through, there isn’t a course in the world that can help you make money online.
You Do the Marketing, They Do the Rest
We’ve all heard the old saying that “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” But what about all of those success stories we hear and read about all the time - those people who go from working at an unsatisfying dead-end job one day and making vast sums of dispensable income the next? Spotting a potentially lucrative opportunity is the first and often the most important step toward financial success.
Affiliate marketing is a concept that has flourished online in recent years. As its name suggests, the work is all marketing-related. There’s no cause to worry about any other aspects of the business because they are handled by an affiliate. An affiliate marketing system is ideal for burgeoning entrepreneurs because it allows you to associate your business with a well-established company and their product line.
CPA Marketing: Lead Gen Ideas You Can Use
Lead generation offers are a cornerstone of any CPA marketing network. Although you will find a fair number of per-sale offers, it’s the lead generation offers that are most popular. They tend to be a bit easier across many traffic sources, especially since they don’t require users to get out a credit card.
To promote lead generation offers, you need to think about the mindset of your user and how you can locate that user. Let’s consider a few examples.
- For a scholarship lead-gen offer, you want to find people who are either in high school, or who may have skipped/dropped out of college the first time around. Sites like Facebook and Yahoo! Answers are especially effective for these markets.
- For auto financing leads, think of who would be in the market to buy a car. People searching for the names of dealership or car models may be especially likely targets. Search engine PPC marketing is a great choice for getting at these people.
- Particularly unusual offers can be easy targets for low-volume campaigns. Take, for example, an offer seeking motorized wheelchair leads. You’ll find the competition is much lower, but you’ll also find that the volume is lower. For most of us, that’s just fine (though we’d all love to have a $1000/day campaign).

Internet Marketing System for Dummies
Have you ever felt like you needed an internet marketing system for dummies? A lot of us have. Even established affiliate marketers can feel like hopeless newbies when trying out new methods and markets. That doesn’t mean that you can’t be successful, though. What you need is a system that helps you focus.
There are a few things you’ll find with almost any successful affiliate:
- Focus - Successful affiliates don’t attempt to learn and master article marketing, social media marketing, SEO, PPC, and PPV all at once. They focus on just one or two methods and they master them before moving on.
- Discipline - A successful affiliate is the one who keeps at it day after day. You’re going to get much farther by working on your marketing for an hour or two each day than if you put in an overnighter every couple of weeks. That’s the kind of behavior that moves your efforts from “hobby” to “career”.
- Support system - If you don’t have a cheerleader, get one. It can be your best friend, your wife, your mom, or a total stranger on the internet. The important thing is that you have someone who understands and holds you accountable. That’s a common strategy for weight loss, fitness, studying, and pretty much anything else that requires significant long-term effort.
Do you have these things? Is there anything else you’d recommend adding to your personal affiliate marketing system?
Advertising in the Internet Age
For any business, one of the best things you can do to increase your visibility and boost your clientele is to advertise yourself effectively. While this used to be very difficult or expensive for people, the digital age has made it a bit easier. With the prevalence of the internet, it’s not only easier for people to start a business, but it’s also easier to market that business. While radio spots and television ads garner unprecedented exposure, they are usually far too expensive for the average startup.
That’s why so many people who are looking to generate an internet income turn right back to the internet for marketing. If you are trying to find out what is affiliate marketing or how to utilize social networks, there is a plethora of free advice to be had. There are so many forums where you can post videos or promotions for your business at no cost. Maybe you’ve created a funny and creative ad campaign touting your business. If that’s the case, post it on YouTube or other forums where videos can be posted and shared for free. Or you could even place an ad on Craigslist. Whatever the venue, if it doesn’t cost you can any money, all you are out is your time. And if it garners you any interest, you can count it as a success.
Building an Affiliate Marketing System That Lasts
Every new affiliate wants to build their own affiliate marketing system, but few set out to build one that lasts. If you brought this to their attention, though, you’d find that a lot of affiliates are actually in denial of that fact. Maybe it’s because so few affiliates have proper business training. Maybe it’s just a case of misunderstanding reality. Maybe it’s just optimism.
Affiliates who start making money rarely stop to think about how they can broaden their strategy so that they’re less vulnerable to industry changes that could put them out of business overnight. They don’t think, “Well, I’m making good money with this PPC campaign now, perhaps I should use this earning time to build out some SEO sites that will also earn steady money.”
Any introductory class in Economics or portfolio theory will teach you that investing in a single area can give you big returns, but that it’s also very risky. With just one stock, a single market event can wipe out your entire portfolio in an instant. Do you want that for your affiliate business?
Although you don’t want to broaden too much before you’re making money, it’s always important to have some idea about your long-term strategy as you progress. And of course, put a bit of those profits in the bank!
Make a Business Plan and Stick to It
As a highly motivated entrepreneur, you might be experiencing a sense of frustration. Instantaneous success just isn’t a realistic expectation; it takes savvy and patience to get ahead in business, especially on the Internet. Given the proper tools and strategies, you can excel. The real trick is to prioritize your time in an efficient manner. As your own sole employee, it’s up to you to sit down and hammer out a business plan.
If nothing else, be sure that website marketing is positioned near the top of your list of priorities. If no one knows about the products or services you are offering, it’s impossible to do any selling. By employing affiliate and CPA marketing, you can tap into proven expertise and help spread the word about your offerings. The world of e-commerce is competitive and congested, but you can still get the edge if you associate yourself with the right people.
Affiliate Marketing Systems for Success: Have a Friend
A lot of us are very concerned with training courses and simple affiliate marketing systems, but there’s actually a better “affiliate marketing system” that anyone can take advantage of. It goes back to our days in school and the “buddy system”. Remember that? The teachers would pair off students so everyone would have a better chance of getting back to the classroom. The same thing applies with affiliate marketing. If you pair off with another affiliate, you’re going to have a much better chance of achieving profitability.
But why is it so much better to have a partner? There are a few reasons. First, a partner holds you accountable. If you don’t do any work on your affiliate campaigns, your partner is going to nag you. If you get frustrated, your partner can help you through it. If you have a question, you suddenly have two brains to pick instead of just your own. And of course, by providing those benefits to someone else, you’re diminishing the inherent loneliness in working on a computer by yourself all day.
Of course, an affiliate partner can also dramatically improve your networking. By having a close friend in the industry, you’ll gain access to their network, and you’ll be able to pair others in your network up with your partner as is appropriate. It makes you more of a “connector” and people tend to remember that kind of help.
In general, there’s no good reason to avoid meeting other affiliates and cultivating close relationships with those that fit you best. Whether you meet them on message boards, chat rooms, or real life events, the important thing is that you have someone to share the day-to-day grind with.
Building Your Internet Marketing System: What You Should Know About Gravity
I recently had the opportunity to discuss my personal internet marketing system with a Clickbank representative, and what she said completely rocked my world. But first, let me tell you a little about how I’ve been using Clickbank as an affiliate.
I do a lot of PPC and SEO to sell ebooks, and I’ve always had a very specific checklist for picking the ones I thought would have the best shot at being winners.
- Good landing page? If not, it’s not going on my to-do list.
- Good payout? 50% or higher commission is a necessity.
- Solid gravity? I usually looked for somewhere in the 30-100 range to avoid “duds” or saturated niches.
It turns out, I was ALL WRONG on the gravity. Although Clickbank tells us that gravity is determined by the success and volume of an offer, they leave out one key detail. Each separate affiliate promoting an offer is counted once. That means that an offer with 100 different affiliates who each make just 1 sale would actually have a higher gravity than an offer with 2 affiliates who make 1000 sales each month. As such, gravity is not all that useful to us affiliates.
Now that I’ve learned to take gravity out of my evaluation, life is much easier. I’m finding all kinds of untapped markets that I would have shied away from before. So, if you haven’t done Clickbank in a while, I’d encourage you to take a second look with this information in mind.
